Triumphant Entry into Jerusalem

Yesterday, our Early Years pupils were taught the story of Jesus' triumphant entry into Jerusalem.  

In the Bilble, Jesus entered Jerusalem riding on a donkey and the people welcomed him joyfully by spreading palm branches, and leaves on the road and praising him saying.... "Hosanna blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord" (Matt 21:9)

To drive the lesson home, we acted out the story in a practical way. Some children played the role of those who welcomed jesus  waving  palm leaves and singing  praises while I played the role of the donkey.  It was such a privilege to play the role of the donkey on which jesus rode.  A child also played the role of jesus.  What a privilege!

This activity helped them to visualise the story and understand the values of humility, joy and honoring jesus.

It was a beautiful and exciting moment for the children.
